Rudolpho Casonetti (Rudy Casoni)

(BIRTH)

Bastard child of unknown parentage found Dec. 7th, 1968 behind the Sands Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada. Investigators at the time connected his birth to Deborah Debonnet, a cigarette girl who had been employed by the Sands at the time. Her disappearance shortly after the investigation began added an element of intrigue, coupled with the rumors that she had been romantically linked to the then married Frank Sinatra. Investigators were reluctant to pursue leads connected with the case after Miss Debonnet’s disappearance but the rumors surrounding the paternity of the child continued.

(EARLY LIFE)

Records show a Rudolpho Casonetti (sometimes “Casonetto” sometimes “Casone”) in and out of foster homes in several Southwestern states including a two year stint in the West Texas State correctional facility for juveniles.

Over the years several women in the burlesque trade have laid claim to having raised Rudy but no legal proof exists. Burger King Restaurants has records proving Rudy Casoni worked in their Barstow franchise from Jan. 3rd, 1984 to Jan. 6th of that same year.

(SINGING CAREER)

In 1987 Rudy Casoni fronted Bob Forstners Galloping Gang of Hornplayers at the Lucky Strike in Ely, Nevada. The relationship soured in the fourth month when Forstner caught Casoni porking his wife with fellow band mate and trombone player Cagey Watson. Both Rudy and Cagey moved over to Lum Nutter’s Brassplotion where they were again let go due to similar type malarkey that had transpired with Forstner. From there, Rudy made his way into smaller clubs in the Las Vegas area.

From May of ’94 to July of ’96 Rudy had a successful run in the Eldorado Room at the Golden Nugget Hotel/Casino. Fronting a smaller quintet of rotating band members fit well with his style and would become the trade mark sound of a Casoni show. Management brought suit against Casoni in ’96 for various contractual breaches relating to his habit of porking tourists in his dressing room.

In 2001, Casoni embarked on a long stint of cruise ship engagements which because of looser maritime laws, allowed him more freedom to pork whomever he felt like. Looser laws and all, he still managed to do a stretch in a Malaysian prison for some unspecified breaches of morality.

With all that behind him Casoni returned to the states in 2008 and settled in Los Angeles where he now performs live once a month at the Steve Allen theatre.
